A High Court judge in Dominica has ruled that Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and his Education Minister, Peter Saint Jean must stand trial over opposition charges that their dual citizenship nullified their election.
The ruling Dominica Labour Party won last December's general election with a convincing 18-3 majority.
But the opposition United Workers Party (UWP) went to court challenging the results in five constituencies, claiming voter
irregularity, bribery and fraud.
Judge Errol Thomas threw out the bribery charges and the claims of voter irregularity.
UWP leader Ron Green said while he was disappointed by the judgement on the bribery claims, he is pleased with the decision regarding dual citizenship.
However Attorney General Francine Baron-Royer said she was confident that Mr Skerrit would win his trial.
